Airtime on the Marin hardtail — red helmet, eyes on the landing.

Hello, trail friend

I'm Armand.
I go up to send it.

I'm 11 years old, and mountain biking is the thing I want to do whenever I get the chance. I'm still a kid, but I already know the feeling of pointing a bike at a lip, committing, and coming out the other side with a huge grin and dirt on my shoes.

I have a Marin hardtail. There's no rear shock, so the trail talks straight through the frame — roots, braking bumps, and the last little kick before a jump. It's the bike I take every time I ride, and it's the one I trust when the dirt suddenly drops away and both wheels are in the air.

I do trails at Putrajaya Challenge Park. That's my home spot: dirt lines under the trees, berms that hold, and jumps lined up so you can session them again and again. I go there to learn the track a little better each visit, stay out until my legs are tired, and ride the same features until they start to feel like mine.

I can do really cool jumps. I like the moment the front wheel lifts, the bike hangs, and I have to look at the landing and bring it back down clean. I'm still chasing smoother, higher air, but jumps are already my favourite part of the park — the part I think about on the way there and the part I want to do one more time before we leave.

Season log

The climb so far

  1. RIGHT NOW

    Jumping at the park

11 years old, sending really cool jumps on the Marin hardtail at Putrajaya Challenge Park, then rolling back for one more.

  2. THE PARK

    Putrajaya became home

The trails there are where I practice: dirt lines, berms, and jumps I can session until they click.

  3. THE BIKE

    Got the Marin hardtail

A hardtail means I feel the trail. It's the bike under me every time the front wheel comes up.

  4. THE START

    First time off the ground

One small jump turned into wanting every jump, and that feeling still hasn't worn off.

Trails

The dirt lines

This is where I actually ride. Winding trails through the park, the kind you learn lap by lap until the corners feel automatic.

Jumps

The jump lines

My favourite part. Lips, airtime, and landings I can session on the Marin until the jump looks as cool as it feels.

Challenge Park

My trail home. If I'm on the bike, there's a good chance I'm here, helmet on, looking for one more really cool jump.
